UGC NET June 2026 Notification: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET June 2026 notification on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor. Applicants who are interested in appearing for the National Eligibility Test can now submit the online application form from 29 April 2026 to 20 May 2026. The examination will be conducted for multiple subjects across India in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Applicants pursuing Master’s Degree courses are also eligible to apply provisionally as per the official notification. Education Qualification and Eligibility Conditions
General Unreserved and General-EWS applicants must have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination.
OBC-NCL SC ST PwD and Third Gender category applicants require 50% marks in Master’s Degree.
Applicants appearing in the final year of Master’s Degree examination can also apply provisionally.
Applicants whose results are awaited or qualifying examinations are delayed are eligible for provisional admission.
Applicants must complete their Master’s Degree within two years from the NET result date.
Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s examination was completed before 19 September 1991 are eligible for 5% relaxation in marks.
Third Gender category applicants are eligible for the same age and fee relaxation available to SC/ST/PwD categories.
UGC NET June 2026 Selection Process
The selection and eligibility process for UGC NET June 2026 will be based on performance in the online examination. The examination will contain two papers conducted in a single session paper 1 will test teaching and research aptitude and paper 2 will assess subject-specific knowledge selected by the applicant. Both papers will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions and there will be no interview process. Final qualification will be based on cutoff marks and category-wise merit.
